Portal Slewing Crane are widely used in cargo loading and unloading at ports and docks, construction and installation of shipyards, and construction projects of large hydropower stations. The crane's rotating mechanism is installed on the base of the gantry crane, and the gantry base is actually the load-bearing part of the crane. There is a running mechanism under the gantry base, which can walk on the track set on the ground. The arm and luffing mechanism of the lifting mechanism are also installed above the rotating mechanism. The four mechanisms work together to complete the installation of equipment or hull sections, or to load and unload cargo.
Trains can pass under the gantry base. According to the requirements, it should be determined during construction that one, two or three trains can pass. When passing one, two or three trains, the track gauges of the gantry crane are 6m, 10.5m and 15m respectively. Gantry cranes are usually powered by an external power grid via a flexible cable, and large mechanisms are generally driven by three-phase induction motors.
