The safety devices of bridge cranes mainly include the following types: one
Lift height (lowering depth) limit switch: When the lifting gear rises or lowers to the extreme position, this device can automatically cut off the power source to prevent the hook from hitting the top or lowering too deeply, thereby avoiding safety accidents such as the hook falling.
Operating travel limiters: Travel limiters must be installed on each operating direction of the crane and trolley. When the designed limit position is reached, the power source in the forward direction is automatically cut off to ensure that the equipment operates within the range of the travel limit position.
Load limiter: Also known as an overload protector, when the load reaches 1.05 times the rated load capacity, this device will cut off the upward movement but allow the downward movement to prevent the crane from lifting a load exceeding the rated load capacity.
Anti-collision device: When two or more cranes are operating on the same track or there is a possibility of collision, the anti-collision device will trigger the electrical switch to act, cutting off the power supply and stopping the crane to prevent collision accidents.
Interlock protection device: For the doors of cranes and the doors from the driver's cab to the bridge frame, unless the operation manual specifically states that the door can be opened and safety can be guaranteed, interlock protection devices should be installed. When the door is open, the power supply should not be connected. If the crane is in operation, when the door is opened, the power supply should be cut off and all mechanisms should stop running.
Other safety protection and safeguarding devices: including buffers, end stops, wind-resistant and anti-skid devices, alarm devices, emergency stop switches, track sweepers, protective covers, guardrails, etc. These devices provide additional safety guarantees in various situations.
