Bridge Crane

Bridge cranes are lifting equipment that are horizontally placed above workshops, warehouses and material yards for material handling. Because its two ends are located on tall concrete columns or metal supports, it is shaped like a bridge. The bridge frame of the bridge crane runs longitudinally along the tracks laid on the elevated structures on both sides, which can fully utilize the space under the bridge frame to lift materials without being hindered by ground equipment. It is the most widely used and numerous type of lifting machinery.

A bridge-type crane that runs on elevated tracks is also known as a overhead crane. The bridge frame of the bridge crane runs longitudinally along the tracks laid on the elevated structures on both sides, and the hoisting trolley runs laterally along the tracks laid on the bridge frame, forming a rectangular working range. This way, the space under the bridge frame can be fully utilized to lift materials without being hindered by ground equipment. This type of crane is widely used in indoor and outdoor warehouses, factories, docks and open-air storage yards, etc.

Key Configurations

A bridge crane is generally composed of a bridge frame (also known as a trolley). It is composed of parts such as the lifting mechanism, trolley, trolley traveling mechanism, control room, trolley conductive device (auxiliary sliding line), and crane main power supply conductive device (main sliding line).
Bridge frame
The bridge frame is a basic component of a bridge crane, consisting of main beams, end beams, walkways and other parts. The main beam is straddled above the span and has structural forms such as box, split frame, web plate and round pipe. End beams are connected at both ends of the main beams. Walkways are installed on the outside of the two main beams, and safety railings are provided. On the walkway on one side of the cab, there is a large vehicle moving mechanism, and on the other side of the walkway, there is a device for supplying power to the electrical equipment of the small vehicle, namely the auxiliary sliding line. Guide rails are laid above the main beam for the movement of the trolley. The entire bridge crane is pulled by the trolley moving mechanism and moves along the guide rails in the length direction of the workshop.
