The hook is the most commonly used lifting device in bridge cranes. It bears the entire load of the lifting process. During use, once the hook is damaged or broken, it is prone to cause major accidents. The reason for the damage and breakage of the hook is that friction and overloading cause cracks, deformations, damage and breakage of the hook. To prevent the hook from malfunctioning, it is strictly forbidden to lift it beyond its load capacity during use. During inspection, attention should be paid to the opening degree of the hook and the wear of dangerous sections. At the same time, the hook should be annealed regularly. Once cracks are found in the hook, it should be scrapped in accordance with GB10051-88. Welding repair of the hook must never be carried out.
